A blockchain is a public ledger network in which information is recorded and stored in a distributed fashion. This information could include transactions and transfer of ownership rights of assets. The blockchain is secured through cryptographic technology which makes it highly secure and immutable. The blockchain allows for digital assets to be provably scarce and rare, which makes fantasy sport a great candidate for blockchain integration. In our game, each player card is a digital asset that exists on the Polygon blockchain. These assets take the form of player trading cards and have utility on our fantasy sport platform

GameDay Squad is built on the Polygon Proof-Of-Stake blockchain. This is a sidechain of Ethereum and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. We chose this blockchain because of the low gas fees required to mint all of the digital playing cards.
