The Stats Lab Primetime Competition launches tonight. Two sports, two separate prize pools, one rule set, and $1,000 up for grabs every single round. Here is what you need to know before the first lockout.

What Is the Stats Lab Primetime Competition?
Primetime is a standalone weekly competition on GameDay Squad. It sits completely separate from your Standard competitions (Starter, Classic, Challenger, Champion) and runs on its own leaderboard. Every round the competition resets. Every round, someone wins $1,000.
The format is straightforward: build your best squad from Thursday and Friday night games only, enter for free, and see where you land.
The Rules Are Unlike Any Other Comp
This is where Primetime gets interesting. There is no salary cap. Not a generous one, not a flexible one. No salary cap at all. Every other competition on the platform comes with financial constraints that force trade-offs. Not here.
In Primetime, your best cards go straight into the lineup. Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Legend and Special cards are all eligible, no limits. The only restriction: bronze cards do not qualify.
No cap hit. No card limit. No special card restrictions. Just your strongest squad, Thursday and Friday nights, and the competition.
Rule | Aussie Rules | Rugby League |
Salary Cap | None | None |
Rarities Allowed | Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Legend + All Special Cards | Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Legend + All Special Cards |
Special Card Limit | None | None |
Games Included | Thursday and Friday night only | Thursday and Friday night only |
Entry Cost | Free | Free |
Forget the Overall Leaderboard. This Is About the Weekly Win.
Standard comps are a season-long grind. You manage your cap, build your roster across months, and battle for position over an entire season. Primetime is none of that.
Every round is its own event. The leaderboard resets. Last week means nothing. What matters is your selection this week. Nail your Thursday and Friday night picks, outperform the field, and you win.
This is not a competition where you build slowly and peak late. It is a competition where you show up every round with your strongest lineup and compete for a prize before the Saturday morning alarm goes off.
Stop thinking season. Start thinking round.
Enter Every Round. It Costs Nothing.
Primetime is free to enter. No token cost, no buy-in. Just set your squad and lock it in.
And here is the reason every single coach should enter: the top 250 finishers earn a pack, every single round.
Finish | Prize |
1st | $1,000 Cash |
2nd–3rd | 10 Player Elite Pack |
4th–20th | 9 Player Unique Pack |
21st–30th | 9 Player Rare Pack |
31st–50th | 9 Player Common Pack |
51st–250th | 1 Player Common Pack |
Even a 200th place finish puts a card in your collection that was not there before. At zero cost to enter, that is a shot worth taking every round without question.
The $1,000 headline grabs attention. But the depth of the prize structure is what makes Primetime a genuine no-brainer for every coach on the platform.
Tonight Is Round 1. Get Your Squad In.
The Primetime Competition debuts tonight for both Aussie Rules (Opening Round) and Rugby League (Round 1). The first lockout hits with tonight's Thursday games.
Use your best non-bronze cards. No salary cap to manage. No special card slots to ration. Pick your strongest possible lineup from tonight's games and let it run.
The competition starts tonight. Your squad should too.
