Why coaches are switching to GDS AUS Cricket

Most fantasy cricket games hand you a leaderboard that resets every summer and a prize table full of merch. We do it differently. GameDay Squad AUS Cricket is free to play, pays real cash every round, and the player cards you collect are yours to keep. The squad you build this summer is the one you start with next summer, just stronger.

  • Real money, every round. Cash prizes in Contender, Classic, Challenger and Champion across 17 rounds, plus seasonal prize cards.

  • Free to play, free to win. Every coach gets free packs, and the Contender competition pays cash to the top ten without you spending a cent.

  • Your cards, forever. Pack a Diamond Steve Smith once and he's in your reserves for as long as you play.

  • Five competitions from one collection. Starter, Contender, Classic, Challenger and Champion, and your Classic squad doubles as your GDS Cup entry.

Cards you can collect

Every card is yours to keep. The higher the rarity, the bigger the score multiplier. A few of the cards coaches are chasing right now:

How GDS AUS Cricket works

  1. Open your packs. Download the app, sign up free, and you'll get 312 Bronze player cards in starter packs straight away. That's enough to field Starter, Contender and Classic squads on day one.

  2. Set your 11. One wicketkeeper, three batters, four all-rounders and three bowlers. Every one of them scores. There are no captains, no bench and no set emergencies.

  3. Beat the lockout. AUS Cricket runs a rolling lockout. A player locks one minute before his match starts, and everyone else stays open until theirs does.

  4. Win cash and cards. Round prizes drop the Tuesday after the round, seasonal prizes at the end. Cash goes to your wallet, packs go to your collection, and better cards unlock harder competitions.

Prizes run deep, not just to the winner. Classic pays cash to the top ten and packs to the top 500 every round, and the top five in Contender, Classic, Challenger and Champion all earn a seasonal prize card. The full round-by-round breakdown is in our AUS Cricket prize table.

Pick your competition

Every coach starts in Starter and climbs from there. Your squad's combined salary decides which competitions you can enter, and salary is set by card rarity, never by how well a player is going. A Gold Steve Smith costs exactly the same as a Gold Todd Murphy.

Three comps a round, your call which

Every competition is free to enter, but you can play a maximum of three standard competitions in the same round. Starter is off the table once you're playing Challenger or Champion, and Champion coaches can't drop back into Contender. You can change which comps you enter every single round, so as your collection grows, so does your ceiling.

How scoring works

Your round score comes from what your players actually do in the middle. Runs, wickets, catches and dot balls all count, and there are bonuses for the big performances. Then the whole lot is multiplied by the rarity of the card you own.

One knockout cup, one Classic squad

Set your Classic squad every week and you're automatically in the running for the GDS Cup. No extra entry, no extra work.

  • The GDS Cup: the 128 coaches with the highest combined Classic score across Rounds 1 to 3 qualify. From Round 4 it's head-to-head survivor format for seven weeks, fixtures redrawn every round. Lose and you're out.

  • Survive and get paid. Every week you get through earns a pack, Week 4 earns an All Star Card, and the last coach standing picks in the GDS Prize Card Draft.

Built for Australian coaches

Every lockout is shown in your local time, positions are set for the season from StatsPerform data so there's no mid-summer surprises, and our community lives on Discord where coaches trade cards, argue about projections and post their squads before the first ball. In-app you'll also see the leaderboard for every competition, round-by-round or full season, and exactly where you sit against every other coach.

Ready to build your squad?

AUS Cricket runs over the Australian summer, December into January. It takes about two minutes to get set. Download GameDay Squad, open your starter packs and build your first 11 before the next lockout. Your cards are waiting, and so is this round's prize money.
