How GDS Women's Aussie Rules works

1. Open your packs. Download the app, sign up free, and you'll get starter packs of Bronze player cards straight away. There are more starter packs than ever in 2026, so you can field a full squad on day one.

2. Set your 22. Eighteen on the field (6 DEF, 5 MID, 1 RUK, 6 FWD) and four on the bench, one of each position. Bench players score exactly the same as field players.

3. Beat the lockout. Women's Aussie Rules runs a rolling lockout. Each player locks one minute before her team's game starts, so you can keep tweaking Saturday and Sunday players after Thursday night has kicked off.

4. Win cash and cards. Round prizes land every week, seasonal prizes at the end. Cash goes to your wallet, packs go to your collection, and better cards unlock harder competitions.

The 2026 prize pool

We're paying cash in every round of the 2026 season, and for the first time that includes the four finals rounds. Sixteen paid rounds, topped up with end-of-season prizes. Here's what the top spot pays.

Prizes run deep, not just to the winner. Classic pays cash to the top five and packs to the top 250 every round. The full round-by-round breakdown is in our Women's Aussie Rules prize table.

Pick your competition

Every coach starts in Starter and climbs from there. Your squad's combined salary decides which competitions you can enter, and salary is set by card rarity, never by how well a player is going. A Bronze card costs $500k all season, even if she's leading the league for disposals.

New this season: three Weekly Specials

• Under 22s ($16m cap): only players born in or after 2004. The on-field ruck slot becomes an any-position slot. Know who's getting games before the rest of the platform does.

• Primetime (no cap): only games played on a Saturday. Every rarity allowed, Bronze included, up to 11 Legends. Bring everything you own and build from one slate.

• Fantasy Bros Sunday Showdown ($14m cap): only Sunday and Monday games, max one Legend and one Diamond. Win one of the first 12 rounds or earn a wildcard, then it's a 16-coach knockout bracket for a $500 Grand Final.

All three are free to enter all season. Primetime carries the biggest weekly cash prize outside Champion.

How scoring works

Your round score comes from what your players actually do on the field, then multiplied by the rarity of the card you own. Goals are worth more here than on other platforms, so a forward who kicks three is a genuine week-winner.

New for 2026: emergencies are automatic. Your round score is the sum of your best 21 from 22, so the lowest scorer is dropped before your score is confirmed. One late out, early concussion or in-game injury can't wreck your week. Full details on our scoring page.

The card multiplier

This is the bit no other platform has. The same player on a better card scores more.

Prize Cards (1.4x, $600k) and All Star Cards (1.35x, $700k) are the special cards that make Classic and Challenger squads sing. The full table is on our salary cap page.

The knockout cup, one Classic squad

Set your Classic squad every week and you're automatically in the running for the 2026 GDS Cup. No extra entry, no extra work.

• The 2026 GDS Cup: our premier end-of-season knockout, back after a successful first run in 2025. The top Classic coaches go into seeded groups, then a straight knockout finals bracket, all under Classic squad rules. Start round, participant numbers and prizes will be announced once the season is under way, and coaches who've already won a seasonal prize card are still eligible for the cup prize card.

Built for Australian coaches

Every lockout is shown in your local time, Primetime and the Sunday Showdown are built around the Australian weekend fixture, and our community lives on Discord where coaches trade cards, argue about projections and post their squads before lockout. There are no captains, no vice captains, no trade limits and no cap on players from one club. In-app you'll also see player status, a projection for every player every round from The Stats Lab, and real-time selected-by percentages across all five standard competitions.
