Start Vs Sit

Batters - Ben McDermott vs Caleb Jewell

Both batsmen have shown glimpses of what they can both produce on the fantasy stage this season but have been rather inconsistent. McDermott is averaging 31 points and Jewell is averaging 26 points. Who to start between these two is a coin flip. McDermott has only once been ranked inside the top three batters in a match while Jewel has done it on four occasions. I think the safer option is Jewel but I'm leaning towards McDermott as I think he offers the higher ceiling.

Start: Ben McDermott

All-Rounder - Corey Anderson vs Nikhil Chaudhary

Anderson has been having a disappointing season in the fantasy sense and averages 26 points. He's played seven matches and has only finished as one of the top four all-rounders twice. As Anderson has only had three innings where he has made it to double digits and usually only bowls the one over, I believe Chaudhary is a better option, and here is why. Chaudhary has played six matches and finished as one of the top four all-rounders in every match. Despite just having three innings with the bat, he has taken advantage of his opportunities and averages 42 runs. He also tends to bowl more than Anderson and has picked up a wicket or two in every match but one.

Start: Nikhil Chaudhary

Bowler - Nathan Ellis vs Patrick Dooley

Bowlers have generally found it difficult to score well in AUS Cricket against the Strikers but pace bowlers have averaged ten more points than spin bowlers when they bowl their four overs. I'm leaning towards starting Ellis in this match and this is mainly because the Striker's top order could really take to Dooley. If the Hurricanes bowl second, I may pivot to Dooley. Dooley is a great POD option for this match as spinners have either been rocks or diamonds in Adelaide. I think starting Ellis is the safer option though.

Start: Nathan Ellis
