GameDay Squad IND Fantasy Cricket Squad Preview: The Gujarat Titans! Get the inside scoop on the Gujarat Titans Cricket Squad for the upcoming GameDay Squad competition with an in-depth analysis and preview. Find out who to watch out for!
The Gujarat Titans went down to the Chennai Super Kings in a last ball thriller of the Indian Premier League Final in 2023. The Gujarat Titans have made some great signings but have also lost Handik Pandya to the Mumbai Indians. They have a well-balanced squad and should be a contender for the title this season.

Batters
Superstar batsman and captain Shubman Gill will lead the Titans at the top of the order. He was the number one ranked batsman last season with an average of 64 points. Over his first ten matches last season he put together some good performances but was a little inconsistent with an average of 49 points. Over his last five matches he was the best player in the IPL and averaged 100 points, this included three centuries. Gill ranked as one of the top three batters in a match in twelve of his seventeen matches. He offers GDS coaches a very high ceiling and will likely be a must-start player once again at the Batsman position for fantasy cricket!
Kane Williamson is GT's star international batsman recruit and let's hope that we see an injury free season from him. Last season his season ended abruptly in the Titans first match after he picked up a knee injury while fielding. Williamson has been one of the world's best batsmen for several years and can perform well in any cricket format. Even with the Titans having some great batter options, Williamson will likely be one of the first selected players in GameDay Squad whenever GT play!
Bowlers
Mohammed Shami was the top wicket-taker last season, but the Titans won't have his services for the entire 2024 season due to an ankle injury that he picked up the 2023 CWC. Mohit Sharma will now spearhead the Titans bowling attack and he was able to put up some decent numbers last season. He ranked 2nd in the bowler rankings with an average of 49 points and ranked as one of the top three bowlers in a match in seven of his fourteen matches. One thing that stood out to me was his performances in Ahmedabad compared to all other venues. In the seven matches he played in Ahmedabad he averaged 68 points, and he ranked as one of the top three bowlers on five occasions. In the seven matches he played away from Ahmedabad he averaged 29 points, and he ranked as one of the top three bowlers on two occasions. This is just something to consider when selecting your starting GDS XI whenever GT play.
All-rounders
Rashid Khan was the number one ranked all-rounder last season, averaging 55 points. He is a handful for any batsman and took 27 wickets over the 17 matches that he played last season. Khan ranked as one of the top four all-rounders in all but one match. Unlike Mohit Sharma, Khan performed better away from Ahmedabad last season. In the nine matches he played in Ahmedabad he averaged 45 points, and he ranked as one of the top four all-rounders in every match. In the eight matches he played away from Ahmedabad he averaged 65 points, and he ranked as one of the top four all-rounders on seven occasions. This is just something to consider when selecting your starting GDS XI whenever GT play. Khan is a must start in most matches, even though he may not be required to feature with the bat on a regular basis.
Wicket Keeper
Wriddhiman Saha is the number one wicket keeper at GT, and he will likely open the batting alongside Gill. In 2023 he averaged 32 points and ranked as the top wicket keeper in eight of his seventeen matches. With the bat he averaged 22 runs but only managed to score 20+ runs on six occasions. Saha can be a good starting option, but the opposition's wicket keeper may be a better option on occasions.
